Vitae 2027: Piemonte's 85 Wines in AIS's Four Lists of 100

The Italian sommeliers' guide names 400 wines in four lists. Here are all of Piemonte's, from Monprivato to Moscato d'Asti.

Vitae 2027: Piemonte's 85 Wines in AIS's Four Lists of 100

The Associazione Italiana Sommelier has finished publishing its Vitae 2027 selections: 400 wines in four lists of 100, and 85 of them from Piemonte. By our count Toscana also has 85, far ahead of every other region. Here is the full Piemonte list, with links to the 72 wines already on our site.

How the four lists work

AIS released them one at a time: Territorio on 20 October, Valore on 22 October, Rivelazione on 26 October and the Grandi Vini on 28 October, each chosen by the tasting commissions of its regional associations. The Grandi Vini are, in AIS's words, the wines that defined the Italian style in the world; the Territorio wines are those most faithful to their place; the Valore list sets out to show that top quality can be affordable (no price ceiling is given); and the Rivelazione list is devoted to daring (all our translations). The edition's theme is "the concept of vintage", and the Piemonte wines alone span 2016 to 2025.

All 400 will be poured on Saturday 14 November at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence, from 10:30 to 19:30. Advance tickets cost 25 euro for AIS members and 40 euro for others.

100 Grandi Vini: 24 from Piemonte

Piemonte leads this list, ahead of Toscana with 21. All fifteen Barolo and four Barbaresco among the hundred are here.

100 Vini di Territorio: 21 from Piemonte

Piemonte and Toscana share the top spot with 21 each.

100 Vini Valore: 21 from Piemonte

Level with Toscana again. Ten of the hundred value picks are Barolo.

100 Vini Rivelazione: 19 from Piemonte

Toscana leads with 22. Among the rare or rediscovered grapes, AIS names Uva Rara, Avanà, Nascetta and Ramie from Piemonte.
