Conterno Fantino

Conterno Fantino

Conterno Fantino is a family winery on the Ginestra hill, the highest point of Monforte d'Alba. Claudio Conterno and Guido Fantino joined their two families in 1982, and the second generation, Noemi and Matteo Conterno and Elisa and Fabio Fantino, now works alongside them. All the vineyards are in Monforte: 27 hectares, 16 of them Nebbiolo, on sand, silt, clay and marl between 280 and 400 metres, rising to 550 metres for Dolcetto and Chardonnay.

The estate makes four single-vineyard Barolos, Sorì Ginestra, Vigna del Gris, Vigna Ped and Vigna Pressenda, plus Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, two whites and a Barolo Chinato. The vineyards are certified organic, and the cellar works with indigenous yeasts and soft pressing.

Monforte d'Alba is one of the communes of the Barolo denomination, in the Langhe hills of Cuneo province.
