Cavallotto - Tenuta Bricco Boschis
Cavallotto is a family estate on the Bricco Boschis hill in Castiglione Falletto, in the middle of the Barolo zone. The family has farmed here since 1928 and began bottling its own wine in 1946; the first Barolo label followed in 1948. Today the fourth generation, Laura, Giuseppe and Alfio, runs it, with Alfio and Giuseppe as the enologists. Around 25 hectares of estate vines, about 17 of them Nebbiolo, are worked with organic practices and only their own grapes are vinified. The range covers Barolo from the Bricco Boschis and Vignolo crus, including two Riservas, plus Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba, Freisa, Grignolino, Chardonnay and Pinner, a white from Pinot Nero. Castiglione Falletto is one of the villages of the Barolo denomination, in the Langhe hills.
