Red
Gattinara
By Giancarlo Travaglini, Alto Piemonte, Piemonte, Italy
Gattinara DOCG, the estate's core wine, made from Nebbiolo grown on the estate's volcanic-soil hillsides at the foot of Monte Rosa.
Tasting notes
Visually: vintage, bright ruby red colour with delicate transparency. Olfactory: soft floral aromas, from violets to rose petals, turning spicy and balsamic with time, with a mineral, sometimes iron-like finish. Flavour: elegant, balancing freshness with barely outlined noble tannins and a subtle, long persistence of small red fruits, flowers and fruit jellies.
