Il Sogno

By Giancarlo Travaglini, Alto Piemonte, Piemonte, Italy

Giancarlo Travaglini Il Sogno

Named in honour of Giancarlo Travaglini, who conceived the wine but did not live to taste it; made from carefully selected grapes dried for about 100 days and aged four years before release.

Tasting notes

Visually: rich, bright red colour. Olfactory: a slow, generous bouquet of cherry, blackberry jam, plum, black cherry syrup and balsamic nuances, completed with menthol and anise, cocoa and cinnamon spice, candied citrus peel, potpourri, mineral nuances and currants. Flavour: soft and structured, developed with tension and freshness, a pleasant savoury note and enveloping tannin, with a long, memorable finish.
