Poderi e Cantine Oddero

Poderi e Cantine Oddero

Poderi e Cantine Oddero has farmed the hills around La Morra since the 18th century, and the family began bottling under its own name in 1878, a line now in its seventh generation, run today by the Oddero sisters with a next generation, Isabella and Pietro, coming up behind them. The cellars stand in the frazione of Santa Maria, above roughly 35 hectares scattered across La Morra, Verduno, Serralunga d'Alba, Monforte d'Alba, Castiglione Falletto and Neive. From these plots come single cru Barolo such as Brunate, Villero, Rocche di Castiglione, Bussia Vigna Mondoca and Vignarionda, a Barbaresco from Gallina, Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo from the Langhe, a Nizza from Asti, and a Moscato and a Riesling from the estate's higher, cooler sites. Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto vines have been farmed organically since 2008. La Morra is one of the eleven communes of the Barolo DOCG, in Langhe hill country that UNESCO listed as a World Heritage Site in 2014.
