Red
Francia
By Giacomo Conterno, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
Francia (known as Cascina Francia until a 2010 labelling law change) has been the Conterno family's home vineyard since Giovanni Conterno purchased it in 1974, and produces both the estate's standard Barolo and its treasured Barbera.
Tasting notes
Intensely aromatic and layered, with rose petal, tar, liquorice, spice, pomegranate, iron and rich red fruit — the benchmark against which other Barolo is measured.
