Montaribaldi Rio Sordo

A single-MGA Barbaresco DOCG from the 0.6 ha Rio Sordo cru planted in 1966; a Riserva bottling of the same cru has also been released in some vintages (e.g. 2021).

Tasting notes

Known for unmistakable spicy notes shaped by the cru's own microclimate and air circulation; elegant and complex.

Vinification
Fermented at least a week at 28-32C, kept on fine lees at 20-22C for at least two months for malolactic fermentation. Aged about 24 months, part in traditional oak casks (2,000-3,000 L), bottled more than two years after harvest and rested at least 6 months before release.
