Montaribaldi Perno

A single-vineyard Barolo DOCG from the Perno cru in Monforte d'Alba, planted in 1980 and aged about 38 months partly in wood; won a Silver Medal at Decanter World Wine Awards 2024 for the 2018 vintage.

Tasting notes

Garnet red with orange reflexes; intense bouquet of wood, ripe fruit and spice; full and persistent, with austere but not bitter tannins.

Vinification
Fermented at least a week at 28-30C, kept on lees at 20-22C for at least two months for malolactic fermentation. Aged about 38 months, partly in wooden barrels, bottled after 3 years from harvest.
