A structured Barbera d'Alba Superiore from calcareous clay 'white soils', aged 15 months in new barriques.

Tasting notes

Colour: deep ruby red. Bouquet: intense, with attractive fruity notes and sweet spice aromas. Palate: dry, smooth and full, with a delicate base of vanilla and ripe fruit.

Soil
Calcareous clay 'white soils', characterised by clay mixed with banks of chalk, originating in the Miocene (15 million years ago), compact and solid.
Vinification
Very low yields. Traditional vinification with 15 days' maceration at 28-30 degrees C, followed by malolactic fermentation and 15 months' ageing in new barriques, plus at least 6-8 months resting in the cellar after bottling.
