Vite Colte Ansisa

A fruit-forward Barbera d'Alba from sandy, low-limestone soils, aged in steel with bottle ageing.

Tasting notes

Colour: ruby red shading to purple. Bouquet: opulent and intense, with a lively, fruit filled fragrance of cherry, plum and blueberry. Palate: dry and full flavoured, displaying red fruit jams, with a smooth and persistent finish.

Recently formed soils dating back five million years, containing marine fossils left when the Padana sea withdrew; sandy, almost no limestone at surface level, mainly siliceous, dry and loose.
Vinification
Traditional vinification with maceration on skins for 10 days and fermentation at 25-28 degrees C, followed by malolactic fermentation in steel and several months of bottle ageing.
