Scagliola - Sansì Sansì

The estate's namesake Barbera d'Asti Superiore, first made in 1996, from vineyards around the San Siro church; about 10,000 bottles a year.

Tasting notes

Good pulp, ruby red with slight brick notes. Wide-ranging scent of ripe fruit, cocoa, spices and vanilla. Dry, robust, rich and persistent.

Pairs well with

Red meat, roasts, game and aged cheeses.

End of September to beginning of October, traditional harvest with strict manual selection of grapes
Vinification
Maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for about 25 days. Malolactic fermentation can take place. Aged in French oak barriques, 50% new and 50% second passage. Alcohol approx. 15% vol.
Serving temperature
Serve in a large glass (Balon) at about 20°C
Storage
Keep lying down in a dark place at a constant 12 to 14°C. Good ageing potential.
