Cossetti 1891 Crivelletto

Nizza DOCG from the Crivelletto cru, the best part of the San Colombano property at Castelnuovo Belbo. Barbera aged at least a year in 500-litre oak barrels.

Tasting notes

Bright ruby red taking on a light garnet shade over time. Gentle, persistent aroma of red berries with hints of plum, spices and vanilla. Well bodied with a rich tannic structure, still soft and balanced.

Pairs well with

Meat and game of international cuisine, the best aged cheeses; also suitable between meals.

Medium mixture soils with a sandy-marl component, with iron and magnesium.

Vinification
Steel vats at 28°C with manual punch down, devatting after 10 days into small 500-litre oak barrels where alcoholic fermentation is gradually completed. Malolactic fermentation at controlled ambient temperature. After at least a year of ageing in wood, bottled with one gentle filtration.
