Red

Carpegna

By Enrico Serafino, Roero, Piemonte, Italy

Enrico Serafino Carpegna

Carpegna sits within Serralunga d'Alba on younger, fossil-marl soil, which the estate says gives this Barolo a more open and welcoming character than its other wines from the same commune.

Tasting notes

Intense ruby red with light garnet reflections, a broad, varied bouquet where small red fruit alternates with liquorice and spice and merges with the violet typical of Nebbiolo, and a broad, persistent palate where firm tannins give way to freshness and elegance, promising a long evolution in bottle.

Pairs well with

Game, roasts and aged cheeses, also enjoyed after dinner.
