Late-harvest Arneis passito from Piobesi d'Alba, aged 12 months in French oak.

Tasting notes

Intense straw yellow. Nose of dried and ripe fruit, from almonds and prunes to fig and prickly pear. Rich on the palate with quince, chestnut honey and ripe medlar, carried by pleasant acidity.

Pairs well with

A wine for contemplation or for desserts; suited to fermented cheeses, goat and sheep cheeses.

Vinification
Late harvest, free-run must only (60% of the must), fermented at 17 to 18 C in wooden casks and rested on the lees for three months, then moved to wood for malolactic fermentation. Ages 12 months in medium-sized French oak, rests three months, then six months in bottle. Alcohol 13.5 to 14%, residual sugar 130 to 140 g/l. Ageing potential over 8 years.
