Red
La Matota
By Renato Buganza, Roero, Piemonte, Italy
Barbera d'Asti kept in steel and bottled unfiltered, meant to be drunk young. The name means 'the girl' in the local dialect. Part of the family's Radici e Filari line.
Tasting notes
Winey and very fresh, with notes of fresh plum and wild berries; ruby red with intense violet shades. Made without wood ageing, to show the character of the grape, and good drunk young.
Pairs well with
Grilled meat, pasta and rice dishes, savoury cheeses and pies; the producer likes it with pizza.
