Nizza Riserva
By Cantina Sociale di Nizza, Nizza, Piemonte, Italy
Barbera 100% Nizza DOCG Riserva from the cooperative's most vocated vineyards, blending sandy and clayey soils. Aged 24 months in barrique and 6 months in bottle; 14% vol.
Tasting notes
Velvety but intense garnet, with warmer reflections that develop with bottle age. Elegant nose of violet, small red fruits and tobacco. On the palate it is strong yet harmonious, with persistent, soft tannins and a long, satisfying finish.
Pairs well with
Mushroom or cheese first courses; best with second courses of braised red meat marinated in the same wine: game, hare, wild boar, donkey stew, beef fillet and roast white meat. Unusual pairing: canapes with butter and anchovies.
