The estate's main Barbera d'Asti, aged for a year in large casks and a further six months in bottle for more structure than the young Barbera.

Tasting notes

Ruby red with garnet tinges. Intense, very persistent bouquet with delicate spiced notes and hints of raspberry and violet. Full-bodied, warm, harmonious palate with good acidity and structure.

Pairs well with

Red meat second courses, game and aged cheeses.

Vinification
Destemmed and crushed, fermented for 8-10 days with repeated pump-overs to optimise colour, tannin and aroma extraction, then racked, with malolactic fermentation and tartaric stabilisation in steel. Aged 12 months in 2,500-litre casks plus a further 6 months in bottle.
Serving temperature
16-18°C; uncork at least half an hour before serving, can be decanted and allowed to breathe
Storage
Reaches Superiore status after at least a year's ageing, from the January after harvest, with a minimum 12.5% abv
