Cantina Clavesana Dogliani Mito

The Mito line's Dogliani DOCG, made from Dolcetto grown across the DOCG's lower-Langhe communes; the denomination inherited the Dolcetto di Dogliani name in 2011.

Tasting notes

Intense ruby red. Fresh aromas of red fruit. Dry, tannic palate with a pleasantly acidic finish.

Pairs well with

Whole meals, especially first courses with traditional Piemontese meat sauces and boiled meats (bollito).

Produced across a band of communes in the lower Langhe: Bastia Mondovì, Belvedere Langhe, Briaglia, Castellino Tanaro, Cigliè, Clavesana, Dogliani, Farigliano, Igliano, Marsaglia, Monchiero, Niella Tanaro, Piozzo, Rocca Cigliè, Carrù, Mondovì, Murazzano, Roddino, San Michele Mondovì, Somano and Vicoforte; well-exposed vineyards at 250-600 m altitude, on clay soils with generally good limestone content, vines 25-50 years old.

Vinification
Short skin maceration to balance aroma, colour and flavour extraction, fermented in stainless steel; after malolactic fermentation the wine rests in 200-hl lined concrete tanks before bottling.
