La Ciapa

By Rabino, Roero, Piemonte, Italy

Rabino La Ciapa

A selection of Barbera d'Alba Superiore first made from the 2017 harvest, grown on the south-east slope of the Gran Madre hill in Canale. 14% alcohol, about 2,600 bottles; ageing potential 10 years.

Tasting notes

Purple-red. Dynamic, full palate with winey, fruity fragrance of ripe plum and black duroni cherries; floral and spicy notes from the oak, which does not overpower the variety. A slight tannic edge and a savoury, mineral close, fresh and persistent.
