By Poderi Gianni Gagliardo, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
The estate's entry-level Barolo blends fruit from eight parcels in five communes: La Morra, Monforte d'Alba, Barolo, Verduno and Serralunga d'Alba. Each vineyard contributes part of its character, giving an expressive, approachable wine with good ageing potential.
Tasting notes
Lovely floral profile in a typically approachable style, with notes of strawberry, violet, lemon and spices; refreshing yet soft on the palate, with velvety, precise tannins.
Pairs well with
Egg tagliatelle with veal sausage ragu and summer truffle (Italy), grilled guinea fowl breast with roasted cherry tomatoes and crispy prosciutto (USA), pan-seared beef strips with lychee (Asia).
