Sottocastello di Novello
By Piazzo Comm. Armando, Alba, Piemonte, Italy
A single-vineyard Barolo from the Sottocastello cru in Novello, on the side of the appellation that looks towards the Alta Langa, echoing the finesse of La Morra with a distinct hillside character.
Tasting notes
Colour: garnet red with orange highlights. Nose: scents of ripe red fruit combined with balsamic and dried fruit notes. Taste: intense and persistent, with great structure and complexity.
Pairs well with
Red meat, game, aged cheeses; also good with spicy fusion cuisine and by the glass
