Red
Sul Monte
By Hilberg Pasquero, Roero, Piemonte, Italy
A floral, red-fruited Nebbiolo from 35-year-old vines on the steep, south-west-facing Monteforche hill, matured at least two years in large wood vats and a further year in bottle.
Tasting notes
A fine-nosed, very fruity, almost floral Nebbiolo with red fruit, silky tannins and a long finish, from vines caressed by the last rays of sunset on Priocca's highest hill.
Pairs well with
Duck breast, pheasant or quail with a fruity glaze or berry reduction; tagliolini with truffle.
