Red
Paiagallo
By Casa E. di Mirafiore, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
Barolo from the mid-hillside (320-370m) La Villa vineyard in the village of Barolo, aged two years in 2,000-14,000 litre Allier barrels and at least a further year in bottle before release.
Tasting notes
Ruby red with garnet highlights, a sumptuous bouquet of ripe plums, tobacco, mint, rosemary, cinnamon and dried mushrooms. Very dense, closely woven tannins, soft and balanced.
Pairs well with
Big red meat dishes and medium to mature cheeses; also good after-dinner conversation.
