Barolo Riserva
By Casa E. di Mirafiore, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
By law a Barolo Riserva needs at least five years of ageing before release: three in medium and large oak barrels, one in large concrete tanks and a final year in bottle.
Tasting notes
Deep garnet red with ruby highlights. Intense, clear-cut nose of wormwood, cocoa, mint, black cherry, leather and dried mushrooms. Sweet, velvety tannins and a very long, warm finish.
Pairs well with
Big red meat dishes and medium to mature cheeses; also good after-dinner conversation.
