Casa E. di Mirafiore

Casa E. di Mirafiore

Casa E. di Mirafiore traces back to 1878, when Emanuele Alberto Guerrieri, Count of Mirafiore and son of Italy's first king, began making wine on his family's holdings around Barolo and Fontanafredda. The brand went quiet after his death and only returned to active winemaking in 2008, reviving its cru Barolos from cellars in the historic village of Serralunga d'Alba. Today the estate farms four hillside crus in Serralunga and Barolo, Lazzarito, Paiagallo, Meriame and Parafada, alongside Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Barbera plantings across the wider zone. Work follows Piedmontese tradition: long skin macerations, native yeasts, ageing in large oak barrels and concrete tanks. The vineyards have been certified organic since 2018, with Equalitas sustainability and vegan certification. Besides its Barolos, the house also bottles an Alta Langa sparkling, a Langhe Nascetta white and a historic-recipe Vermouth di Torino. Serralunga sits on the higher, eastern side of the Barolo zone, known for structured, long-ageing wines.
