Tenuta La Meridiana

Tenuta La Meridiana

Tenuta La Meridiana is a family-run winery in Montegrosso d'Asti, in the Monferrato hills that are part of Piemonte's UNESCO landscape. The estate traces its wine story back to 1890. The family follows every stage of production directly and works with native varieties, Barbera above all, sometimes in unusual ways. Each vineyard is treated on its own terms, according to its soil and exposure, and the farm holds SQNPI sustainability certification. Grapes are picked by hand, and for the blends each variety is vinified separately before assembly. The range covers Barbera d'Asti and Barbera d'Asti Superiore, Nebbiolo, Arneis, Moscato and dried-grape sweet wines, plus traditional-method and Martinotti sparkling wines, each with an illustrated label that carries its own story. Visitors can taste with the family and stay overnight in one of two apartments on the estate.
