Red
Isolavilla
By Tenuta Olim Bauda, Nizza, Piemonte, Italy
Grignolino from vineyards at Isola d'Asti, vinified in steel; the family calls the variety demanding in climate and soil and tricky to vinify.
Tasting notes
Delicate, fine nose with undergrowth, dried flowers and often a characteristic white pepper note. Brilliant ruby red with thin amber reflections. Lively and savoury yet refined, dry with typical tannins and a pleasantly almond aftertaste.
Pairs well with
A platter of cured meats, courgette omelette with ricotta and mint, fried anchovies or ricotta and mint ravioli in tomato.
