White
San Vito
By Pelassa, Roero, Piemonte, Italy
A Roero Arneis DOCG from vineyards in the hamlet of San Vito di Montà d'Alba, 100% Arneis. Robert Parker rated the 2021 vintage 91 pts.
Tasting notes
Intense straw yellow colour; delicate, complex, persuasive floral bouquet reminiscent of broom and chamomile with slight hints of honey and white-fleshed jams. On the palate it is dry, harmonious, with a pleasant acidulous vein giving freshness and persistence. Its natural minerality, typical of Arneis from Montà d'Alba, is notable; because of its complexity, Roero Arneis has often been described as a Barolo Bianco.
Pairs well with
An all-round wine, pleasant with hors d'oeuvres and fish dishes; excellent as an aperitif.
