Red
Riserva Gattera
By Gianfranco Bovio, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy
A Barolo Riserva made only in the best vintages from the most historic part of the Gattera vineyard.
Tasting notes
Ruby red with brick-red reflections. Intense nose of ripe fruit such as cherry and plum, with delicate notes of chocolate and sweet spices. Full-bodied and well structured, with elegant, traditional tannins.

- Hand-harvested grapes are gently crushed and ferment with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled tanks, then macerate on the skins with the submerged cap technique for about 3 to 4 weeks. The wine is racked to finish malolactic fermentation and moved into large oak barrels at the start of winter for extended ageing. Bottled without filtration, it rests about three years in bottle before release.
