Red
Licin
By Filippo Gallino, Roero, Piemonte, Italy
A Roero DOCG Nebbiolo with softer, more velvety tannins than the Langhe style, ready to drink sooner. First bottled in 1994 and dedicated to Filippo Gallino's father, Felice, known as "Licin".
Tasting notes
Bright ruby red with orange highlights that increase with age. Aromas of small red fruit, raspberry, violet, liquorice, rose petal, spice, leather, cardamom and clove. Full and enveloping on the palate, with ripe fruit, blackberry and wild strawberry, persistent and gently tannic.
Pairs well with
Red meat, traditional Piedmontese cooking, furred and feathered game, aged cheeses and cured meats.
