Ettore Germano Lazzarito Riserva

Lazzarito Riserva comes from the estate's oldest vines, around 90 years old, on limestone and marl soil with sand and iron, ageing 24 to 36 months in 2,000 litre oak barrels before further time in bottle.

Tasting notes

Intense, deep and bright garnet red, it shows small red fruit merging with sweet spice and liquorice on the nose, making for an elegant, refined bouquet. On the palate the entry is fine and elegant, with sweet, persistent tannins supporting a long, harmonious finish.

Pairs well with

Excellent with various types of red meats and cheeses, as well as being very appealing for conversation after a meal.

Vinification
The grapes are picked at advanced ripeness, but not overripe. In the cellar they are destemmed and crushed into upright steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place with about 50 to 60 days of skin contact and daily pump overs to extract colour and tannin. After pressing off and malolactic fermentation, the wine goes into 2,000 litre oak barrels for about 24 to 36 months, then is bottled and aged further in the cellar before release.
