By Cieck, Canavese, Piemonte, Italy

Cieck San Giorgio

San Giorgio was Cieck's first sparkling wine, launched in 1985 after founder Remo Falconieri trained in traditional-method winemaking in Epernay, Champagne, and applied it to the estate's native Erbaluce grape.

Tasting notes

Dull straw yellow with evident greenish highlights; fine, persistent perlage with a voluminous, evanescent froth; bouquet dominated by fresh, mineral vine sensations with light crusty-bread notes; full-bodied, harmonious, vigorous palate

Pairs well with

Excellent as an aperitif and through a full meal, with fish, white meat, mild cheeses and vegetables
