Red
Martinette
By Boeri Vini, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
Named after one of the family's oldest Barbera vineyards, which suits this classic wine because of its exposure and shape. 20,000 to 25,000 bottles a year at 14% vol, suggested cellaring of 8 to 10 years.
Tasting notes
Intense ruby red. Fresh cherry and raspberry, spices; sweet plummy fruit with vigour, length and freshness. Aromatic notes: plum, wild berries, cherry, violet.
Pairs well with
A full meal: meat antipasti, well-seasoned first courses, important second courses, fresh and aged cheeses. Piedmontese boiled meats, tajarin with meat ragout, roast veal.
