Red
Montalto
By Pierfrancesco Gatto, Monferrato, Piemonte, Italy
Gatto's Grignolino d'Asti DOC, from vines averaging 10 years old in Castagnole Monferrato, with about 10,400 bottles produced.
Tasting notes
Light ruby red that turns orange with age, a fine, intense and ethereal bouquet with notes of rose and raspberry over a background of pepper. Pleasant on the palate, with elegant tannins and a dry, lightly bitter finish.
Pairs well with
A good all-purpose table wine, delicate enough for starters, soups, poultry and fish.
