By Monchiero Carbone, Roero, Piemonte, Italy
Roero Riserva DOCG produced since 1997 from the calcareous, West-facing Frailin hill in the Srü cru, built for long aging.
Tasting notes
Ruby-red hue of great intensity. Deep, ethereal nose giving way to raspberry and blackberry with cocoa, cinnamon and noble wood. Full-bodied, chewy entry with silky tannins on a long finish.
Pairs well with
Casseroles, braised beef in red wine, roast goose, wild boar stew, and aged cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano or Castelmagno.
