Apapà
By Matteo Correggia, Roero, Piemonte, Italy
A Nebbiolo from a selection of old vines in the La Val dei Preti vineyard, aged at least 20 months in ceramic amphora and 20 months in bottle, made in an average of 400 bottles a year. Labelled 'Vino Rosso' because Roero DOCG rules require oak ageing, which this wine skips. Created by Matteo's children Giovanni and Brigitta as a tribute to their father.
Tasting notes
Extremely pure, expressing the true character of Nebbiolo: elegance and freshness balanced by a present but velvety tannin.
