Red
Titon
By L'Armangia, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
This wine can age from 6-7 up to 10-15 years depending on the vintage. Nizza DOCG requires 100% Barbera grapes, lower yields and a minimum ageing of 18 months, at least 6 in oak.
Tasting notes
Ruby red with purple tones changing to garnet red after long ageing. Bouquet of stone fruit, strawberries, violets, vanilla and almonds, sometimes with hints of smoke. Tasty and full bodied, occasionally acidic when young.
Pairs well with
Red and grilled meat when young; later, game, roast, cheese and soups.
