Sparkling
Pitulè
By Generaj, Roero, Piemonte, Italy
Piemonte Bonarda given a light, lively fizz through Charmat-method second fermentation; the name ‘Pitulè’ recalls picking grapes straight off the bunch by hand. 13 to 13.5% ABV.
Tasting notes
Intense ruby colour, open nose with notes of cherry and wild berries. Corresponding taste, full-bodied and balanced by moderate acidity. Lightly sparkling (frizzante) from its Charmat-method second fermentation.
Pairs well with
Rich first and second courses, grilled meats, medium-aged cheeses.
