Castello di Uviglie San Bastiano

A pure Grignolino from the San Bastiano vineyard, on shallow limestone soils in the Monferrato Casalese hills.

Tasting notes

Appearance: faint ruby red. Nose: complex, rich in small red fruits and spices, rosehip, sage, white pepper, almond, macerated rose, violet. Palate: expresses rosehip, sage, white pepper, almond, violet, cherry, raspberry and liquorice root, with pleasant freshness and grip, and a lingering finish of blood orange and candied cherry.

Pairs well with

Traditional Piedmontese and Monferrato dishes; also good with seafood and light aperitifs.

Vinification
Grape selection, destemming, fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel with skin maceration and pumping over for 3-4 days. Malolactic fermentation and maturation in stainless steel to preserve aromatic freshness; bottled in early spring.

14-16°C, also pleasant lightly chilled (12-14°C)
Storage
Bottled in 0.75 l format; keeps for about 3 years.
