Ornella
By Agricola Sulin, Monferrato, Piemonte, Italy
Ornella is Sulin's Barbera del Monferrato DOC Superiore, produced only after careful evaluation of the vintage and aged 22 months in 500 liter French oak barrels plus further bottle refinement before release. It is also bottled as a 3 L Jeroboam, and an extra-aged reserve is released under the estate's Memoriae label.
Tasting notes
Deep red with purple reflections. Winy, clear and continuous bouquet, ethereal with ripe fruit scents and light spice. Complex, dense, soft on the palate with long persistence.
Pairs well with
Flavorful first courses, meat, game and aged cheese.
