Poderi Vaiot

Poderi Vaiot

Poderi Vaiot is run by the brothers Daniele and Walter Casetta, who took over the knowledge of their father Franco and grandfather Pietro, the man nicknamed Vaiot. The cellar is in Borgata Laione in Montà, in the Roero, and all the vineyards are in the same commune, close to the Sanctuary of the Pylons, with Arneis planted beside the winery. Since 2003 the brothers have developed their own style, with much of the vineyard work done by hand and oak barrels made from trees grown around Montà. The range covers Roero Arneis, including a Lamontà MGA bottling, Roero Riserva Pierin, Nebbiolo d'Alba and Barbera d'Alba Lupestre, plus a Langhe Favorita, a rosé, a Brachetto passito and several metodo classico sparklings, among them an Alta Langa. The Roero sits north of the Tanaro river, across from the Langhe, and its hills are part of the UNESCO wine landscape.
