Marsaglia
Marsaglia is a family estate in Castellinaldo, in the Roero hills on the left bank of the Tanaro. Emilio and Marina Marsaglia run it with their children Enrico and Monica, continuing what their great-grandfather Secondo began. The estate farms about 15 hectares, mostly south-facing, on sites in Castellinaldo d'Alba, Guarene and Castagnito, with vineyard names such as Serramiana, Brich d'America, Varata and Lavai. Vines are managed by integrated pest control, with bunches thinned when buds are in excess and grapes picked by hand.
The range spans Roero Arneis DOCG in two styles, Roero DOCG from Nebbiolo, Barbera d'Alba Superiore, Dolcetto, a Metodo Classico, Birbét and a late-harvest wine. Roero is best known for Arneis and for sandy soils on its western slopes.
