Poderi Marcarini Ciabot Camerano

Ciabot Camerano is Marcarini's Barbera d'Alba, grown on some of the estate's sunniest sites in La Morra and Neviglie.

Tasting notes

Intense, clear garnet colour with warm ruby-red reflections; a full, characteristic, complex and persistent bouquet; an austere, warm and full-bodied palate with sweet tannins and superb balance.

Pairs well with

Braised beef, game and aged cheese.

Vineyard planting
4,000 vines/ha, free-standing espalier with Guyot pruning, rootstocks Kober 5BB, 420A and SO4, planted 1992-2001, 3 hectares under vine; altitude 380 m at La Morra and 300 m at Neviglie. Estate-wide, Marcarini's vineyards are pruned to limit yield, maintained with organic composting and controlled grassing over of the rows, and vine diseases are treated with traditional methods.
Vinification
Grapes are picked fully ripe and fermented by traditional methods, then aged in Slavonian oak barrels before bottling, where the wine continues to evolve.
Storage
Excellent longevity, continuing to evolve in bottle after ageing in Slavonian oak.
