Boschi di Berri Pre-fillossera

By Poderi Marcarini, Barolo, Piemonte, Italy

Poderi Marcarini Boschi di Berri Pre-fillossera

Boschi di Berri Pre-fillossera comes from a century-old, ungrafted vineyard on partially sandy soil that escaped the phylloxera epidemic, a rare example of vines still on their own roots.

Tasting notes

Intense ruby-red with reflections between fuchsia and violet; a bouquet recalling violets and raspberries, intense and persistent; a warm, nearly velvety palate of ripe cherries and currants, with the structure and harmony of traditional late-19th-century Dolcetto.

Pairs well with

Cold and warm hors d'oeuvres, pasta dishes, roasts, white meat and fresh cheeses.
