Madonna di Como
By Pietro Rinaldi, Alba, Piemonte, Italy
Madonna di Como is Pietro Rinaldi's Dolcetto d'Alba DOC, named for the hamlet where the vineyards lie, aged 6 months in stainless steel.
Tasting notes
Brilliant ruby red with intense purple reflections. Intense fruity aromas of violets and blackberries. Balanced and complex on the palate with fresh fruit, pleasant tannins and a hint of almond in the long finish.
Pairs well with
Piedmontese starters such as carne cruda all'Albese, Russian salad and vitello tonnato; first courses like tajarin and agnolotti; also good with meat dishes.
