Montalbera Laccento Passito

Laccento Passito is Montalbera's dessert wine made from overripe or withered Ruche grapes dried on trellises, aged in French oak barriques.

Tasting notes

Ruby red tending to brick red. Intense, long persistent nose with floral notes, hints of jam, black pepper and overripe figs. Very sweet, warm, silky and velvety on the palate.

Low trained Guyot system with 7-8 buds on the fruiting cane.
Vinification
Grapes are dried on trellises in a sterilised room under controlled conditions; once optimal dehydration is attained they are separated by hand and vinified using traditional dessert red wine techniques. Matured in selected French oak barriques for at least 15-18 months, then softened in small stainless steel vessels with horizontal refinement in the bottle for at least 6 months. Longevity of 7-8 years.
