White
Ranera
By Poderi Colla, Langhe, Piemonte, Italy
Following the estate's positive 1985 experience with Pinot Noir, Rhine Riesling shoots were planted at Cascine Drago in 1987. Ranera aims for the freshness and minerality of a great white with the evolution and ageing potential of a great red, and is named after the frogs that sing in the evening near a small stream below the vineyard.
Tasting notes
Straw yellow with greenish hues, elegant nose with mountain flowers, pervasive and ongoing minerality, citrus fullness. In the mouth, acid sapidity, complexity, volume and length, with potential positive evolution over time.
Pairs well with
Aperitifs and fish starters
