White
Solum
By Isolabella della Croce, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
Floral and fruity notes blend with spice and a light bread-crust character from long battonage, on a complex, fresh, mineral palate, expressing the estate's idea of Chardonnay grown at 500 metres.
Tasting notes
Light straw yellow, very clear and bright. The nose opens with very fresh white flowers and citrus fruit, a sign of freshness, and with more air shows ripening fruit and aromatic herbs. Structural depth from the alcohol and Chardonnay's characteristic creaminess come through on tasting.
Pairs well with
Pairs well from fish starters to first courses with vegetables and white ragù, from traditional fried dishes to variously prepared white meats such as saltimbocca alla romana or rabbit in casserole. Also good as an aperitif with savory preparations.
