Red
Le Marne
By Isolabella della Croce, Asti, Piemonte, Italy
Elegance and easy drinking result from blending Barbera, Nebbiolo and Dolcetto grapes from Loazzolo, in varying proportions from year to year.
Tasting notes
Bright, almost shiny ruby colour with typically Piedmontese aromas. Ripe but not cloying fruit notes blend with vegetal, mainly hay, notes, with pleasant freshness. The acidity is well balanced by the glyceric and alcoholic tone, never heavy, forming, together with the tannins, the working base the wine is modulated on year to year.
Pairs well with
Its good body makes it a natural match for roasted or spit-roasted meats, cheeses that are not too aged, and seafood preparations such as brodetto, where tomato, herbs and chili are balanced by the wine's own components.
